It is early days for our website, thus right now we are focusing on some basics, including:
- adding more listings
- building our email list
- promoting local businesses on social media
Once our email list is more robust, we will begin approaching businesses to ask them to start supporting local manufacturing. For example:
- asking a large clothing retailer like H&M or Lululemon to start carrying locally made products
- asking local government offices to purchase locally made office supplies
- asking local hospitals to purchase locally made linens and scrubs
In the near future, we will also work to garner local government support to promote locally made products. When their constituents buy locally made goods, it is so much better for the local economy. They SHOULD already be promoting local manufacturing as much as possible…we’re going to remind them of that!
